As you are probably aware, I am a little obsessed with cars at the moment. I want a car. No, scratch that, I need a car. Big time. Given a perfect scenario I would like a nice car. Not just any car, a really, really nice car. One of those 'exotic' ones that has been lovingly restored or built from the ground up. Yes, they are expensive but they're pretty dang amazing as well.

I have found the perfect place to fit out the perfect car with high performance car parts - for Lexus, Lamborghini and Ferrari and other high performance vehicles.

From personal experience I have been for a two and a half hour journey in a Ferrari once before. Granted, they have very little back seat room but I remember being stuck to the seat by gravity for most of the journey. I can see why people buy them if they happen to have the money.

The company, 'In Sixth Gear' also offers a door to door car customization service and loads of ideas for sprucing up your car. The site also features GPS tracking systems (for those of you who travel in style without a sense of direction), wheels and tires, engine parts to headlights and fog lights. This site is likely to appeal to those who enjoy racing cars, high performance luxury cars and motoring enthusiasts who enjoy "fixing up" various models.

In reviewing the site "Park Let" I discovered a number of points about London. Firstly, London is a well populated city, to speak in understatement. Secondly, there is a large amount of traffic flowing through London during peak hours and throughout the day. Thirdly, it would be a difficult place to find good any parking spots! So perhaps the best solution is to find a London Garage for Rent and rent it for an extended period of time? Many of the garages and parking spots advertised can be accessed 24 hours a day, which is very convenient if you work in the city and wish to visit at odd hours. The parking options range from open air car parking spots to security undercover, swipe card access parking spaces. It would be interesting to tally up the amount spent in a year in hourly or daily parking fees and compare it to the total cost of renting a car space or garage for the full year. If you are presently living or working in London you may want to do this simple calculation and find out if you would be better off with the single day option or the yearly option.

In relation to my earlier post, It may be that you can't afford a new car at present. I personally would be buying a used car but it is important to learn as much as you can and research the car before buying. In my earlier post I referred to new Cadillacs and the evolution of the Cadillac as an American Icon. If you are wanting to purchase a Cadillac but don't want to buy a brand new model, Used Cadillacs Harrisburg PA also sells pre-owned Cadillacs. The dealership offers a Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Program with 110+ points of inspection and the warranty covers up to 6 years or 100,000 miles from when the car was brand new. Many of the used Cadillacs on the site are from 2007 and 2006 models, the oldest models I could find were the 2004 and 2003 models. The prices range from around $9,000 to around $60,000 for the newer, AWD and more exotic models.

If you are unsure or have never bought a used car previously, the site is giving away a free report called the "Used Car Buying Guide". It is always a good idea to gather as much information as possible so you are well equipped when it comes to the time when you may wish to purchase.

Have you noticed this? Of all the cars, there are a disproportionate number of songs written about the Cadillac. Artists from Elvis to Bo Diddley, Bruce Springsteen to Neil Young and Blondie to AC/DC have immortalised the famous car in their music. Perhaps it is because there is something inherently rock n' roll about this particular car. The Cadillac became an American icon with its famous fins, and has appeared in films such as Batman, Driving Miss Daisy, Reservoir Dogs, Goodfellas and Matrix Reloaded.

If you are a Cadillac afficionado or just want to browse around, check out the new range at New Cadillacs Harrisburg PA.

The site currently has new vehicle specials including discounts and rebates on 2007 models. The site is easy to navigate and provides useful tips and information on buying a new car. A free quick quote feature simplifies the process of estimating costs and budgeting for a new car purchase. You can also research the vehicle you choose with a nifty 360 degree interior and exterior view - this feature was my favourite! You can also customise your chosen car with a range of colours and trim. It seems the new Cadillac has evolved in recent years - the fins are gone, but the icon still lives.

Take a look at BuyYourCar.co.uk and try one of the searches. It is easy to find the new or used car you are looking for, featuring cars from both private sellers and dealerships. In my case I would be trawling the used car section. Preferably for a large car with lots of storage space. Ah, the freedom to be able to pull out on to the open road and just drive wherever you want... But I digress.

Whether you are looking for a used toyota or a big Chevy station wagon (*sigh*), you can search by preferred make and model and find matching results on the quest for your next set of wheels.

If you are new to buying a car (I bought my first car at night!! True story), you need to get all the advice that is humanly possible so you can avoid making that one regrettable purchase. In this case, check out the Buying Advice section. It contains advice on the best questions you should ask a seller, inspecting the vehicle and a used car buyer's checklist. Most valuable is the section on car buying scams. This advice is worth considering - I have seen many a poor soul on "A Current Affair" bemoaning their gullibility at buying a car online, usually employing Western Union money transfers as their preferred payment method! Had they taken advice on car buying scams perhaps they would be both wealthier and wiser today.

Insurance is there to work for you so you shouldn't just go with the first quote you can find. The beauty of the internet is that you can get instant online quotes to compare and contrast to get the best deal possible. No matter whether you are looking for home insurance, Courier Insurance , insurance for your van, truck or car, you can get instant online quotes in minutes.

Autonet Insurance Group (see screenshot) provides quick information about insurance plus special deals including a saving of up to 70% off for van insurance. Clearly, it pays to shop around for the best deal. If you do your research effectively you could end up saving a whole lot more on your insurance policy. For example, if you get a quote for Autonet and you can find a cheaper insurance policy with the same level of cover, Autonet will give you a refund. The quote process seems to be pretty straightforward, with a seven step process (that is, seven screens) to filling out the quote request. Or you can call to speak to a real person if that is your preference. My favourite part of the site was the funny insurance claims section. This includes actual insurance claims. Here is an example of their contents:
"The claimant had collided with a cow. The questions and answers on the claim form were - Q: What warning was given by you? A: Horn. Q: What warning was given by the other party? A: Moo."*

For those of you searching for a used car, you can go to lemonfree.com: Cars For Sale.

The site has a large range of used cars and truck classified ads. You can search by year, make, model, country and state. Plus the advanced search includes a price range and a mileage range so you can get the best car for your needs. You can also create a free auto listing of your own, with space to upload 10 pictures of your vehicle. Personally, I am quite partial to the Volkswagen Golf - VW Golf
The search results include full colour photographs of the vehicles and detailed descriptions, including Vehicle Identification Numbers and Carfax (vehicle history) reports. These features make it easier for you to research the car before you buy.
Finally, the best thing about lemonfree.com is the fact that they don't charge any money to buy or sell a vehicle on the site!
